Profile: The Do Not Pay Business Center is a US Department of the Treasury program designed to give agencies access to critical information needed to identify, reduce, and prevent improper payments. The June 18, 2010 Presidential Memorandum Enhancing Payment Accuracy Through a “Do Not Pay List” directed agencies to review current pre-award and pre-payment procedures and to ensure that a thorough review of databases with relevant information on eligibility occurs before federal funds are disbursed. Do Not Pay was established as a single point of entry that agencies can access this data before determining eligibility for a benefit, grant or contract award.
