Baltimore: Where the Arts Unify
- Room: Hilton, Concourse D
Sunday, January 17, 2016: 9:00 AM - 9:50 AM
Artists and arts spaces offer comfort and balance in the wake of a community crisis. In the spring of 2015, Baltimore artists stepped up, bringing residents together in response to protests of the death of Freddie Gray. Local artists empowered citizens to peacefully unite and speak out. In this session, we explore what worked and why. To connect and engage their communities when they’re needed most, presenters and artists can nurture relationships and perspectives beneficial in times of anxiety.
