Vineyard Marketplace, a nonprofit, Fair Trade African shop.
True Vineyard Ministries (TVM) envisions entire communities freed from poverty by reaching out to the most vulnerable people in Rwanda and creating environments where they are empowered to live out their full potential at work, home and in their spiritual lives. TVM is committed to using social business models that provide work-based solutions to poverty. But that's just the beginning of what we do.
TVM values creative enterprise as an effective solution to poverty. That is why we run Vineyard Marketplace, a fair trade trade boutique located in San Marcos, Texas. Vineyard Marketplace showcases a variety of products handmade by widows cooperatives, orphan-headed households, and other artisans working to say goodbye to poverty through hard work and creativity. It is only by receiving a fair wage that the heads of households can provide for the many needs of themselves and their family members including food, shelter, health care, and education.
Vineyard Marketplace is a certified member of the Fair Trade Federation, a trade association that promotes and empowers organizations in North America that are committed to practicing fair trade.
Brands: Handspun Hope is True Vineyard's primary vehicle in using work-based solutions to poverty through the employment of more than 75 widows and other marginalized women in Musanze, Rwanda.
