PROGRAM FORMATS

Pre-Convention Workshops (6 hours)

Participants in a Pre-Convention Workshop will receive six PDU/CEU certificates based upon six hours of engaged learning. These workshops are offered only on Friday.


Three-Hour Workshops (3 hours)

These workshops offer three hours of engaged learning on today’s hot topics in education. Three PDU/CEUs will be granted to each Three-Hour Workshop participant.


Transformational Leadership Across America-Turnaround Principals in Action

Learn from seven talented principals who have been charged with turning around academically struggling schools in their respective districts. 


Concurrent Program Sessions (90 minutes)

These lecture-style and interactive sessions are scheduled concurrently throughout the Convention and categorized by the following themes: 

  • Connecting Instructional Practice to School Achievement

    Use effective tools to assess good teaching practices and become grounded in the knowledge necessary to be a true instructional leader.

  • High Impact Leadership

    Learn leadership strategies to create high performing schools that include shared decision-making, creative problem-solving, and resource management through transformational leadership.

  • Leading in Diverse Communities 

    Develop an understanding of the leadership that is necessary to take advantage of the rich diversity within your school and community.

  • Positive School Culture 

    Develop an environment that promotes a focused and inclusive vision for student learning that is supportive and engaging to sustain organizational change.

  • Technology Tools for 21st Century Learning 

    A digital world requires skills that can enhance the principal’s role as a leader using technology effectively for improved student learning and school management.


     

Technology Learning Center–Computer Lab Presentation (1 hour)

The computer lab presentations are lecture-style sessions conducted in the Technology Learning Center and are limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.


Author Presentations (45 minutes)

NAESP, in cooperation with Corwin Press and Eye on Education, is pleased to offer a unique opportunity to meet nationally recognized educational authors.  Authors will be available to sign their books in the NAESP Bookstore immediately following their presentations.
