Costumers...I can't wait to meet you all at the Farthingales Booth. Come by and say hello - we may have met at a previous USITT and I'd love to see you again.
Farthingales has been selling costume building supplies on-line for over 15 years. Based in Canada this internet based company is owned an operated by Linda Sparks who started her career as a costumer in Toronto and Stratford, Ontario. She understands the importance of quality and consitent availability of products, and sells many of the same products that she built her business on in 1998. Her team understands that time can be important orders are shipped every Tuesday and Thursday...shipping to theatres, ballet companies, operas, costume house and tv & fillm companies and high end fashion houses all over the world.
The primary focus of the company is corset making supplies but they also stock hard to find items like tutu panty net and souffle - remember that beige sheer stuff from the 80's that you could embelish but it would look like the skin was decorated? They've got a new one - it doesn't look the same but it does funciton the same. They also have traditional tutu steel and a quality of tutu net that several ballet companies order whole bolts of.
Hoop steel and corset bones are their biggest seller with over 7,000 meters a year of 7mm wide plastic boning sold, telling you that even though it's plasitc it's amazing (that's 7,655 yards of 1/4" wide plastic bones...the web site has measures in both metric and imperial). Hoop steel is solid and actually a form of spring steel, so even the biggest hoop skirt will slide though a doorway without effort or incidence and the custom hoop connectors make storing the hoops easy - as they come apart when you want - no more sticky tape residue.
There are may more items for the costumer and you neededn' be afraid to order from our foreign land, shipping will be higher than from within the US but as the Canadian dollar is worth less than a US dollar, it all evens out.
