 Press Releases

  • Senhoa, the US-based non-profit organization and social business dedicated to combating modern slavery will make its debut appearance at New York NOW’s Handmade Global Design exhibition at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan from February 4-7.

Joining the ranks of 2400+ exhibitors carrying tens of thousands of products, Senhoa will be sharing its unique handmade jewelry-for-good with buyers in the design and fashion epicenter of New York City.

Today, high-end fashion accessories have delved into a whole new depth. Accessorizing has become more than a compliment to a woman’s wardrobe and beauty—it is now a channel through which a woman can make a statement of what she believes in.

Donned by celebrities such as supermodels Coco Rocha, Iman, Caroline Tretini, Julie Ragolia and Behati Prinsloo, accessorizing with a conscience is not a just a trend—it is timeless.

“The evolution of fashion is a triumphant story of freedom and female empowerment. Incredible women like Coco are using this conquest to stand up against slavery and give a voice to women who cannot speak for themselves,” says Lisa T.D. Nguyen, Founder and Executive Director of Senhoa.

Senhoa is both a non-profit and a jewelry and fashion brand with a passion to create opportunities for survivors and vulnerable persons and to end modern-day slavery. Senhoa’s luxe collections, comprised of glamorous necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and exclusive made-to-order couture pieces, have been featured in Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and InStyle. Aside from its classic ranges, Senhoa has partnered with supermodel Coco Rocha, Man of the World Magazine fashion director and stylist Julie Ragolia, UK-based jewelry brand Kat&Bee and celebrity hair stylist George Northwood for celebrity collaboration collections.

All jewelry is made with high-grade materials, semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals and retails from $20-$1,000. Senhoa Jewelry is available at 1961; T-Galleria by DFS, Angkor; Shinta Mani Foundation’s shop, Anakut; and Amansara in Siem Reap, Cambodia and online at

    About Senhoa:

Senhoa (pronounced “suh-no-a”) is a combination of two Vietnamese words -“Sen” (lotus) and “Hoa” (flower). A lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with breathtaking beauty, untouched by its impure surroundings. It is against this precise imagery that “Senhoa” was conceptualized to represent women and children, vulnerable to sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking. Senhoa supports at-risk young women by providing income-generating opportunities, social reintegration and programs for self-empowerment. Senhoa currently has two core programs in Cambodia that address the prevention, rehabilitation, reintegration and education of survivors of human trafficking and those vulnerable to sexual exploitation. 100 percent of profits from the sale of these individually handcrafted jewels go directly to fund Senhoa’s community development projects.
