LOOMINATION MAKES NY NOW DEBUT
as an Emerging Maker
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 28, 2017
JAVITS CENTER, NEW YORK, NY, February 4-7, 2017: Handweaving studio Loomination, owned by Leanne Tremblay, Artisan + Proprietor, makes its NY NOW debut in the Emerging Maker section of the show, booth #9000. Loomination’s artisanal collection of handwoven home décor and scarves are made in Westminster, MA using sustainable practices. Established in 2013, Loomination is expanding from a local boutique studio and entering the wholesale marketplace to expand nationwide.
Each heirloom quality piece made in the Loomination studio is individually woven on a vintage handloom, preshrunk, and hand finished. Loomination’s home décor collection is created using 100% cotton that is grown, spun, and dyed in the US. Created for everyday use, each home décor piece is made to stand up to wear and can be machine washed and dried. Home décor pieces include tea towels, spa towels, table runners, placemats, and napkins. Loomination also creates a line of silky and luxurious 100% bamboo scarves that are bold and graphic, with stark color contrasts that add vibrancy to an everyday staple.
Artisan Leanne Tremblay studied fine art, textile design, and fiber art at UMass Dartmouth, Brown University, and the Rhode Island School of Design and worked in arts and nonprofit administration before founding Loomination in 2013. About her work, Leanne says, “My handwovens are inspired by traditional weave patterns and are executed in vibrant colors, for a modern minimalist look with a vintage touch. Creating functional household textiles using natural fibers, I focus on the art of the everyday, the objects that enrich and inspire our lives and are made to be used and loved.”
