Barrow Concussion Network (BCN) has been a pioneer in concussion education and telemedicine in the United States. It was created in 2011 by Javier Cárdenas, MD, director of the renowned Concussion and Brain Injury Center at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. We provide specialized concussion education, assessment, and telemedicine services to health care professionals, coaches, teachers, parents, and student-athletes. Our specialty programs include Barrow Brainbook, an electronic learning tool for high school students that is currently mandatory for all Arizona high school athletes. Since 2011, the Barrow Concussion Network has educated over 1 million student-athletes.  It has also provided over 250,000 baseline concussion tests, 30,000 post-injury tests, and hundreds of telemedicine consultations, return-to-learn, and return-to-play recommendations. Barrow Concussion Network is committed to providing innovative and timely support throughout all stages of the concussion continuum from prevention and pre-injury to post-injury and recovery.
