United Spinal Association, Illinois Chapter
United Spinal Association, Illinois Chapter is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing information and support resources for people paralyzed by trauma and medical conditions, family members and health care professionals. USAIC provides peer support on an individual basis and in peer groups that meet monthly. Members who are SCI present free Think First Injury Prevetion programs to schools and Fall Prevention to senior citizen groups. They also talk with PT, OT and nursing students on "Living with SCI." An annual seminar offering continuing education units is held.
