UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best hospitals for children. As a hospital-within-a-hospital on the UF Health Shands Hospital campus in Gainesville, we offer care in more than 20 pediatric specialties and house the area’s first pediatric emergency room. We provide care for the children of our community and the state of Florida and are a major destination center for pediatric patients from all over the United States and overseas who require specialized attention for complex medical problems. UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida. In the recent year, we expanded our telehealth capabilities, and we will continue to grow our regional outreach in order to make access to quality care more convenient for our patients.
