The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development (NICHD) conducts/supports research on the health of children, adults, families, & populations. The Institute leads the Safe to Sleep® campaign to reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep-related causes of infant death. Through its National Child and Maternal Health Education Program, NICHD addresses maternal and child health issues, such as Moms' Mental Health Matters, an initiative to raise awareness about depression and anxiety during pregnancy and after birth.
