  • Sunburst 12-40 Ultraviolet Water Treatment System
Treating irrigation water has never been this easy, this small, or this simple....

  • This Sunburst 12-40 Ultraviolet Water Treatment System can treat up to 40 acres of irrigation water. The chamber is constructed of 304SS and is designed to last. It has an integral sleeve wiping system, a positive fluid presence sensor, and contains a built-in broken glass detector that can be connected to pump equipment effectively shutting down the system and removing the potential of broken glass. It is powered by local 240vac power, or, can be powered  by a portable gas/diesel generator providing a minimum of 8,000 continuous watts.

It has proven effective to reduce total coliforms and generic E. coli without the use of any chemicals. It is small and portable, connects to existing mainline, and is transported on a small trailer to be placed next to a booster pump.

When used for leafy green vegetables in compliance with the Arizona and California LGMA, it is an acceptable approach that has shown itself to be helpful and effective. The University of Arizona performed the system validation in 2020 and has performed additional measurements and tests in 2021.
