  • Leading sprinkler innovator KJ Ketterling launches kit to make sprinkler systems and maintenance faster and more affordable.

    For the Sunday warriors, the turf nerds, the landscapers, the gardeners, and green thumbs, your lawn’s sprinkler system is about to get a makeover. Did you know that typical in-ground yard sprinklers sink too deeply into the earth because of the thatch, dirt, dust, and debris blowing in? Plus, you always face running over it with the mower. When any of the above occurs, the whole sprinkler head has to be dug out of the ground, ripping up the area around it to make a mess with mud, water, and debris. Then, you have to remove the head, replace it, add a riser, put the head back together, set it straight, and bury it again.  

     

    Whew, we’re getting tired just talking about it! 

     

    That’s why dad-owned landscaping brand KJ Ketterling crafted a better way to water your lawn with a well-constructed sprinkler riser system. 

     

    Called the K-IT, this simple sprinkler riser system makes maintenance a breeze, it was built on the concept: Elevate, don’t excavate.

     

    Here’s how each piece in the K-IT system works to better your landscaping experience:

    1. Kap It: So no one has to get stuck digging the sprinkler head up and leaving unsightly torn-up lawn spots for weeks, founder Kody J. Ketterling figured out how to raise the sprinkler head up from the top. Inspired by his kid’s Legos, the Kap is essentially an extension of the pop-up head for in-ground sprinklers.  Kap It is stackable like LEGO and also has the ability to protect the water nozzles so you don’t damage the sprinkler should it have a run-in with the weed whacker or lawnmower.

      

    1. Klift It: This piece uses the same pop-up installation as the Kap It but for rotor heads.

     

    1. Kut It: A feature that digs a perfect circle around the sprinkler and acts as a tool to take it apart. 

     

    1. Klock It: A locking bracket for the sprinkler to ensure no unwanted visitors can get their hands or make adjustments to the sprinkler clock.

    • This is the first product that allows the rotor (sprinkler that pop up and moves/rotates) to be raised from the top. Leave the shovel in the truck, it is no longer needed. Klift-it improves labor efficiencies for contractors, makes the process easy and understandable for homeowners, and creates a new revenue stream for distributors. No digging, no dirt induction into the system, increased distribution uniformity, increased filtration. Easy, more cost effective, and a better way to raise a rotor head/sprinkler.

    For the first time ever, you can raise a rotor/sprinkler from the top of the head without digging. The Klift-it allows you to raise a head above the grass without digging which saves time, makes the process easy, and increases sprinkler performance, which means no more brown spots.

    By raising the rotor/sprinkler above the grass blades you no longer have water stream impairment which creates dry brown spots in the grass. Getting the water stream from the sprinkler above the grass increases distribution uniformity (even coverage of water, like natural rainfall) and increases the throw distance of the sprinkler which equates to more efficient use of water and lower run times.

    The new way to raise a head with Klift-it is as follows:

    • Unthread the cap from the rotor body and remove the guts
    • Attach the rotor body riser
    • Attach the rotor riser to the bottom of the internal stem/guts
    • Thread the cap back on to the body
  • Kap-It
    If your sprinklers aren’t too low now, they will be. Simply expose the top of the sprinkler head and unscrew the nozzle add the stem extender and snap on the new Top! After reattaching the nozzle and lining it up, you’re done....

    • The Kap-It riser allows you to raise a sprinkler Quickly! Easily! And with NO DIGGING! If your sprinklers aren’t too low now, they will be. Simply expose the top of the sprinkler head and unscrew the nozzle add the stem extender and snap on the new Top! After reattaching the nozzle and lining it up, you’re done. No tools No dirt in your lines and no stress on any of your below ground fittings. Kap-It fits on the most popular heads, and changes none of the original workings.

    When your sprinklers too low, Don’t dig it! Kap-IT!

    Oh, and they are STACKABLE for those extra deep heads. 

    Kap-It allows anyone to raise a sprinkler head from the top instead of from the bottom! By extending the stem of a standard riser, you have raised the height. The new snap on top protects the stem extension, while leaving all of manufacturer’s original parts completely intact. Kap-It keeps the rocks and debris normally introduced into the head when a sprinkler is unscrewed below ground. The snap on top is designed to still allow regular access to the inside of the head itself, by maintaining the ability to unscrew the top of the canister with the Kap-It , even when more than one is stacked.
