MAZZEI® INJECTOR COMPANY is the leader in mixing and contacting technologies.  For the agricultural market, Mazzei’s leading technologies support higher crop yield per acre by providing growers the following components and systems to produce more per acre and per gallon of water applied:

1) VENTURI INJECTORS for chemigation and fertigation.  Mazzei injectors provide growers with efficient, uniform, low energy, maintenance free addition of liquid fertilizers/chemicals into pressurized irrigation systems;

2) MAZZEI AIRJECTION® IRRIGATION process lets growers “PLOW WITHOUT A PLOW.”   Through the drip irrigation system, AirJection delivers the right amount of air (O2/N2) into the root zone resulting in higher crop yields, early maturation, improved water efficiency and soil health;

In addition to delivering irrigation solutions to growers, Mazzei provides systems and components for wastewater aeration. Aeration is a complicated procedure, but Mazzei’s technologies make the process easier, more efficient, less expensive and more reliable.

Whether it is for your irrigation challenge or your wastewater problem, Mazzei has the solution.

 Products

  • AirJection® Irrigation
    AirJection® Irrigation delivers the right amount of air into the root zone resulting in higher crop yields, early maturation, improved water efficiency and soil health through a drip irrigation system—lets growers “Plow Without A Plow."...

  • Inadequate soil aeration reduces the rate of water and mineral absorption by roots. Saturated soils will trap metabolites, ethylene and carbon dioxide in the root zone, where high concentrations can seriously affect the rate of growth and size of the plant. Oxygen remedies these problems and is necessary for the survival of beneficial soil micro-organisms that aid in improving soil physical properties and processes such as nitrification and ammonification.

    Simply put…plant roots need air to breathe. Without it, soil can become anaerobic, inhibiting nutrient availability, plant growth and crop yields.

    Why Mazzei AirJection® Irrigation? When added to subsurface drip lines, AirJection incorporates atmospheric air into irrigation water at optimum levels and delivers it to the root zone, improving aerobic activity in the soil and increasing root respiration. By delivering air (oxygen and nitrogen) directly to the rhizosphere, crop yield, leaf area, sugar content, germination, and fruit density are increased while water use efficiency and fertilizer effectiveness are improved. This allows for earlier season harvest and improves late-season production. In addition, the micro-bubbles produced by the AirJection irrigation unit have a cleaning effect on the inner walls of the drip tape and tubing keeping particulates in suspension and reducing the chance of plugging.

    The Center for Irrigation Technology at California State University, Fresno, has conducted numerous trials using AirJection since 2000. Data from university-led trials and grower installations has shown that commercial on-farm use of Mazzei AirJection technology can increase crop yields between 13% and 35% as a result of improved plant performance and soil conditions. Quality improvements have also been demonstrated in a variety of fruit and vegetable crops.

  • Mazzei® Injectors
    Mazzei® venturi injectors deliver precise mixing and uniform distribution for injecting chemicals or fertilizers into pressurized irrigation systems. With no moving parts, they are easy to install, use and maintain…the safe and low-cost choice....

  • There is no substitute for a Mazzei. Mazzei patented injectors are precisely engineered with internal mixing vanes...they cannot be duplicated.  Imitations and look-alike products simply do not perform like a Mazzei.

    The key to the operation of a Mazzei venturi injector is the difference between the water pressure upstream of the injector (the water flow entering the injector) and the pressure downstream of the injector (the water flow exiting the injector). As the water stream enters the injector, the shape of the injector causes the water pressure to decrease as it flows through the constricted portion of the injector...therefore, the water pressure entering the injector is higher than the water pressure exiting the injector.  This difference between the inlet pressure and the outlet pressure creates a vacuum inside the injector which causes suction to occur at the injector’s suction port.  This suction is commonly used to inject and mix fertilizers and water treatment chemicals into irrigation water.

    With Mazzei you get the advantages of a non-mechanical chemigation system. Uniform distribution due to better mixing of chemicals—no pulses of concentrated nutrients. Venturi systems offer precise control of suction rates and maintain accuracy of the rate of suction over time—no parts to wear down and lose accuracy. Even when a pump is required to obtain the desired pressure differential in your venturi system, booster pumps last longer in a Mazzei system because only clean water is pumped through them—the pumps internal parts are not in constant contact with concentrated chemicals causing it to wear down faster.  Mazzei injectors are designed for vacuum transfer of chemicals into a pressurized irrigation system and, as a rule, injection stops when the water flow stops making it a safe option for your chemigation and fertigation needs.

    To help with selecting the right injector for liquid applications for your irrigation system, the Mazzei web-based calculator can assist. Called the InjectorSelector, the web-based tool is accessible for registered and approved users via a link on the Mazzei website, mazzei.net.
