Center for Irrigation Technology
Since 1980, the Center for Irrigation Technology has worked with the public and private sectors providing third-party, independent testing data to advance irrigation, water, and energy technologies and management strategies. Built on a foundation of innovation and technology transfer focused on testing, applied research, and entrepreneurship, CIT supports developing and deploying technologies that bring the world the most innovative products and resource management tools.
With 20,000+ sqft of laboratory space and field testing acreage, CIT’s facilities and expertise make it possible to test products to U.S. and international standards/protocols, including EPA WaterSense®. CIT laboratories are in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 as recognized by IAPMO Research and Testing Inc.
CIT staff conduct in-person and virtual educational events for farmers, industry, agency personnel, and water and energy professionals covering topics including pump efficiency, irrigation technology, and water and energy use efficiency. CIT Mobile Education Centers, developed for the Advanced Pumping Efficiency Program (APEP), take education content on the road.
