 Press Releases

  • Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QUEBEC (Oct. 23, 2018) – Canadian company Sinopé Technologies launches Sedna, a smart water leak protection system that works as a stand-alone, without requiring an intermediary or central management, even in the occurrence of a power or Internet failure. It is the first system of its kind designed in Canada.

As soon as one of the smart water leak detectors senses water as low as 0.015 inches, the valve shuts off the main water supply and an alert is sent by e-mail or SMS (1) informing the user of the location of the leak and confirming that everything is under control.

Users are also informed of frost risks that can lead to broken pipes and when the devices’ batteries are low. They can see all their devices, and open and close the valve using the free Sinope Water Leak Protection app available on the App Store and Google Play.

    Cutting-edge technology

With Sedna, Sinopé Technologies introduces two technical innovations. The hub built into the valve rather than being separate provides more reliability, facilitates the installation and contributes to reducing the cost of the system. Moreover, the valve operates under two communication protocols, Wi-Fi and Zigbee 3.0, which allows it to be integrated into an existing smart home system, and for the valve and the detectors to work even without an Internet connection.

“Sedna is the most interesting smart system for house and condo owners. It allows them to protect their home and belongings with unprecedented ease, reliability, and efficiency”, said Sinopé Technologies founder and CEO François Houde.

The Sedna system is now available for purchase on Sinopé Technologies’ e-store. The Sedna5 Starter Kit including one smart valve and five smart water leak detectors is available from $449,95 at www.sinopetech.com/en/sedna. Smart water leak detectors can be added to the basic system.

Sinopé Technologies also has a professional platform designed for managers and condo owners allowing them to control many Sedna systems from only one management platform.

  • Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (QUEBEC), May 31st, 2018 – Sinopé Technologies, a Quebec company specialized in energy management control systems, launched the Smart Electrical Load Controller, a new device that allows to remotely control a variety of appliances from any smartphone, tablet or computer (1), and that provides them with many smart home features.

In addition to making it possible to remotely control the appliances to which it is connected, this new device allows to apply a timer, program schedules and integrate into scenes through home automation platforms such as SmartThings and Control4. (2) The Smart Electrical Load Controller thus simplifies the life of its users, leads to great electricity savings and protects homes and cottages during prolonged absences.

The Smart Electrical Load Controller can be connected to any appliance with a compatible electric load. Pumps (pool pumps, irrigation pumps, etc.), window A/C units, outdoor lighting systems as well as charging sockets for electric vehicles are only a few of the appliances that can be connected to the new smart device. It can also be installed on water heaters.

The Smart Electrical Load Controller also works with voice commands using Google Assistant and Alexa (Amazon) through SmartThings and Control4. It also works directly with Amazon’s Echo Plus.

ʺThe Smart Electrical Load Controller is an easy, accessible and versatile solution for consumers who want to remotely control a great variety of appliancesˮ, says François Houde, CEO, and founder of Sinopé Technologies. ʺBesides, some appliances may not have their equivalent for the smart home. This new device overcomes the issue. ˮ

The Smart Electrical Load Controller is now available on Sinopé Technologies’ e-store (www.sinopetech.com), Amazon and in select wholesalers at the suggested retail price of $119.95.

This new device uses Zigbee communication technology, a communication protocol widely used in smart home systems.

The electrical load controller is also available in the Web programmable product line for consumers who want to use Neviweb, a management platform created by Sinopé Technologies that provides precise and downloadable energy consumption history for each connected device.
