  • Kentucky Long Rifle
Hand crafted Kentucky Long Rifle. This rifle was built for Sandy Froman, past NRA President....

  • The design of this Kentucky Rifle was based on an original rifle built in Virginia by Master Gunsmith John Sheetz and is on display in the museum at Colonial Williamsburg. The wood used for the stock is of the finest curly maple. The patch box is hand made from sheet brass and is overlain with Sterling Silver accents. All of the inlays were hand made and are fine Serling Silver, the wire inlay is made from Sterling. The barrel was custom made by FCI barrels to my specifications, rust blued and has a Sterling Silver name plate inlet into the barrel with the makers name, location and date of manufacture. This rifle was hand carved in the style of the oringinal along with fine silver wire inlay inlet into the carving. The patch box release is of the hidden knuckle design which was common to the Virginia gunsmiths of the time. The sterling silver inlays, the lock and barrel name plate were all hand engraved. Then this rifle was then stained and finished with the tradional methods that gave these rifles that special look and feel.
