Kris has diverse public safety experience with over 23 years as a firefighter/paramedic with Virginia’s
largest fire and rescue department. In addition, Kris has 19 years of law enforcement experience
and works part-time for the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office where he serves as a tactical
paramedic on the SWAT team.
Kris has extensive knowledge of active attack and high threat responses and has assisted in
the creation and development of response plans and protocols for these types of events.
Kris has trained federal, state, and local public safety agencies preparing them for high threat
and active attack response. Seeing the value in a whole community approach to these events,
Kris has also taught hundreds of civilians how to prepare, react, and respond should they find
themselves in an active attack/violence event.
