FIREWELL is an independent knowledge translation platform and research collaborative with firefighters. We include a national team of firefighters, researchers, and people interested in firefighter health, working together to improve firefighters’ health and safety through research. The goal of FIREWELL is to develop and share tools that may be helpful in supporting healthy work participation for firefighters.
At our booth FIREWELL research team members will share, discuss, and answer questions about our firefighter health research on: the link between heart health and workplace stressors, needs and preferences for an online educational program for work-related shoulder disorders, the development of a new survey that measures firefighters’ ability to do job tasks, firefighter mental health educational programs (differences, similarities, how to choose what program is best for your needs), the implementation of a mobile health approach to peer support (PeerOnCall app) within the fire sector, and more.
