New Booth for New York Apple Sales
This year, New York Apple Sales ( NYAS) , Glenmont, New York will showcase a new and expanded booth at Produce Marketing Association, Fresh Summit ( PMA) . NYAS has grown from a small 8 x 10 booth into a new 20 X 20 island booth in a new prime location #3923.
The new booth designed by Apogee Exhibits of Macedon , New York and Mason Marketing of Fairport, New York will highlight the many services that NYAS offers to apple customers around the country and the globe.
The booth will pay special attention to the over 65 NYS growers that NYAS represents as well as the nine different packing facilities across NYAS. " Our growers are the backbone to our success and our performance" said Karri Stannard, owner and President of New York Apple Sales."Each and every one is growing the highest quality NYS apples, and using the latest growing techniques. Our guys are quick to invest in new varieties and new infrastructure in order to continue to be the best. Our new booth will allow us to show off their efforts via video."
Additionally, NYAS has partnered with nine packing facilities across NYS, that are using the newest, cutting edge technology to store, sort and package apples, to meet high market demands. "Spreading our growing and packing operations across the state helps reduce the risk of weather related crop failures compared to having all your production in one limited region. We are proud of our modern packing facilities and this booth will give us a chance to offer video, and examples of our capabilities," remarked Jim Allen , VP of Marketing." Our largest packer, Lake Ontario Fruit, which NYAS is a partner, recently installed a new primary packing line which offers every possible new tool to pack apples." Allen said.
NYAS is also an invested partner in Pomona Packing in Wolcott, NY and Fish Creek Orchards in Waterport NY.
Finally the new space will allow NYAS staff to meet and greet customers in a larger and less confining area. John Cushing VP of Sales commented: "The reason we are at PMA is of course to meet with our customer friends that we spend hours with throughout the year, on the phone or on email. Having this face to face time in a new and spacious area, will be great!" Salesmen Michael Harwood, couldn't agree more, " I am really looking forward to the new digs! We can give special attention to our great NYS apples and our special varieties, such as KORU, Sweetango, Evercrisp, Snap Dragon, Ruby Frost and Scotian Gold honey crisp.
The 2018 crop looks to have a strong showing this year, and New York Apple Sales is preparing to meet the demands. New staff member Chelsea Van Acker will be working in grower relations and food safety, while newly hired Zack O'Keefe will be assisting with production and logistics. Sales will continue to be handled by Karri Stannard, John Cushing, Debbie Hulsopple and Michael Harwood.
