Gibraltar offers anti-vehicle barriers that have been certified or engineered to meet ASTM F-2656 requirements. We specialize in designing active and passive vehicle barriers, anti-ram fence products, and anti-personnel fencing. Our products are found on both the US Department of State (DOS) Barrier List and the US Army Corps of Engineers Department of Defense (USACE DOD) Barrier List. Gibraltar has also manufactured vehicle barrier systems to meet the requirements set forth by the High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) in Saudi Arabia.

  • ULTRA SHALLOW BOLLARDS
    he G-1441 Ultra-Shallow Bollard is a patent-pending security bollard that has been fully tested and crash certified as a single bollard....

    • FIXED ULTRA-SHALLOW SECURITY BOLLARDS

    This primary bollard has been certified by an independent third-party crash test laboratory to ASTM F2656-15 M40 P1 levels. However, Gibraltar also arranged crash testing of our ultra-shallow bollards to ASTM F2656-15 M40 P2 specifications and provided extrapolated calculations for engineered M30 P1 specifications.

    These ultra-shallow bollards require foundation depths of just 5 inches, as compared to the 12 inches required by our other shallow options – making the G-1441 ideal for applications with shallow concrete like parking decks and bridges or areas with existing underground utilities. In addition, the bollard requires just 78 inches from the front to the back of the foundation. As a result, the bollard and poured foundation assembly can replace a standard sidewalk.

  • BOLLARD SYSTEM
    This bollard utilizes a standard, or “deep,” foundation and endured crash testing to ASTM F2656-07 specifications....

    • Gibraltar’s G-1400 Series bollards have been crash-tested and certified to ASTM F2656-15 M40 P1 test specifications as a single bollard. For these purposes, our G-1441 bollards can halt a 15,000 pound vehicle traveling at speeds of up to 40 mph without allowing penetration past one meter. These unique units are patent pending for our innovations in bollard strength and efficiency in installation.

    • 1) The Gibraltar G-1631F, G-1631R, and G-1631D safety bollards are S30 P1 certified.  ASTM F3016-19 S30 P1 bollards were impacted at 30mph with 5,000 lbs and had less than 1 ft of dynamic penetration from the front bumper. All three units provide the highest level of pedestrian and customer safety from vehicular impacts.

    • ELECTRO-MECHANICAL OR HYDRAULIC OPTIONS

    The Gibraltar M50 P1 Wedge Barrier is available in two separate configurations, full electro-mechanical and hydraulic powered. In recent testing both electro-mechanic and hydraulic emergency fast operate (EFO) deployment is listed at under 1.5 seconds, making both options viable solutions for a wide variety of wedge barrier needs. In addition, no pneumatics, springs, or assists of any sort are necessary for EFO deployment.

    Gibraltar performs continuous, ongoing electro-mechanical testing to ensure the durability and length of wear of all electronic parts. Currently, this ongoing testing has reached well over one million continuous deployment cycles, with no signs of slowing or stopping. In addition, all US Department of State barriers must undergo required, third-party cycle testing to ensure strict adherence to electronic barrier requirements.
