Disability Rights New Jersey
Disability RIghts New Jersey is a private non-profit organization that provides legal and advocacy services for people with disabilities throughout the state - any age group and any disability. Our mission is to advocate for and advance the human, civil, and legal rights of people with disabilities and promote their self-determination and inclusion in all facets of community life. We provide individual legal assistance ranging from brief services such as self-advocacy assistance to full legal representation. In addition, we conduct investigations and monitoring in facilities, systemic legal work, policy work, and outreach and training. Within Disability Rights NJ, the Richard West Assistive Technology Advocacy Center (ATAC) provides assistance to people with disabilities to obtain assistive technology devices and/or services. ATAC of DRNJ offers educational programs to promote public awareness of AT, short term loans of devices, AT demonstrations, and offers resources on how to obtain funding for AT. The services are provided at no cost to people with disabilities in NJ.
