Eric Simoneau and David Gingras, the co-founders of Motion Composites,started working on their idea for a better wheelchair when they were still students attending college. They both observed an obvious problem with ultralight manual wheelchairs; they were all heavy and inefficient. Both decided to use a space age material already being used in aerospace, mountain bikes, and automobile racing - carbon fiber. They developed their first chair in 2008 and today have the lightest folding chair in the world.
