Orthotic Prosthetic Technology Student Association - Joliet Junior College
Established in 1901, Joliet Junior College is the first community college in the country.The Orthotic Prosthetic Technology program is one of only five programs in the country that educate and train future orthotic prosthetic technicians. Orthotics is commonly referred to braces. Braces, more correctly termed orthoses, are used to support or stablize the trunk or limbs due to trauma or pathology. Prosthetics is commonly referred to as artifical limbs, more correctly termed prostheses, are used to replace limb loss due to trauma or pathology. Both O&P increase people's function.
