The Southwest ADA Center is the Southwest's leading resource on the Americans with Disabilities Act and related disability rights laws. The Center is part of the ADA National Network funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR).

The Southwest ADA Center serves a wide range of audiences who are interested in or impacted by these laws, including employers, businesses, government agencies, schools and people with disabilities. About the Southwest ADA Center :

The Center's mission is to promote voluntary compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by providing three core services — technical assistance, training and materials dissemination. Activities designed to carry out the mission in Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Louisiana are facilitated through the home office in Houston, TX as well as its affiliates.

The Southwest ADA Center is a program of ILRU (Independent Living Research Utilization), at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas. The Center is funded by grants (90DP0092 and 90DPAD0010) from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research. NIDILRR is a Center within the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The contents of this website do not necessarily represent the policy of NIDILRR, ACL, HHS, and you should not assume endorsement by the Federal Government.
