Profile

Andrew Kurtzman is Assistant Director for Data Science in the US Government Accountability Office’s Innovation Lab. In this role, he and his team work to use data science to enhance GAO’s oversight of Executive Branch programs on behalf of the United States Congress. This includes automating bodies of GAO work, testing and validating new audit methods, and interactively illustrating audit findings. Andrew was previously a Senior Economist with GAO’s International Affairs and Trade mission team. Before GAO, Andrew worked at OECD, the Alabama Governor’s Office, and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Andrew holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, an MPP from Harvard University, and a BA from Brown University.
