Description

Our panel examines agency implementation of OMB Circular A-123 requirements nearly five years after its release. Explore changes over the last five years and whether agencies’ risk and control programs have met OMB’s intended results.

Key Take-aways

Key Takeaways: Each agency must establish an ERM/ICOR program that fits within the organizational structure and mission of the organization. It is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Flexibility and continuous monitoring are critical to meeting the objectives of A-123. Risk and internal controls should focus not only on reports, but also on the underlying data and how data quality is evaluated and confirmed.

Learning Objectives

Understand the status of OMB A-123 implementation from select agencies. Gather input from leaders to successfully implement an Internal Control over Reporting (ICOR) program. Obtain insights into agencies’ implementation of ERM and coordinating it with the ICOR program.
