Bret Edwards is the Deputy to the Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Since joining the FDIC, Mr. Edwards has held a series of increasingly responsible and complex roles. After leading the Division of Finance, Mr. Edwards became the Director of the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships. Before joining the FDIC, he worked as a management and benefits consultant with leading accounting firms.

Mr. Edwards holds a BA in Economics from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis) and an MBA from Cornell University (with distinction). He is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, and Certified Treasury Professional.
