Ms. Lynor Abetria, is a Staff Accountant under the Internal Controls and Fraud Risk Management Division, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Department of Energy. She executes the mission of the CFO, “Stewardship of financial and business operations for the Department of Energy by an empowered workforce using technology and analytics.”
Ms. Abetria joined DOE in 2019, coming from a similar position at the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters dealing with the oversight of internal controls program and the US Secret Service dealing with the management of financial operation. She has a US Government service total of 12 years since 2010. Previous positions before joining the government service includes accounting experience in the petroleum, financial, and property management industries.
Ms. Abetria holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Science in Accountancy – with a Concentration in Comptrollership. She also completed numerous career-enhancement classes in Government finance, ethics, audit, and accounting. Ms. Abetria is a Certified Government Financial Manager.
