Chidilim Okonkwo is Dir. of Agency Financial Systems Office, Office of the CFO at NASA Headquarters leading the modernization of the Agency’s financial management application portfolio. Mrs. Okonkwo has been designated Agency Business Process Lead with oversight of the Financial Line of Business (LoB) change management and chairs the Financial Applications Working Group to ensure future enterprise solutions are on track to meet emerging needs in a compliant, business driven, and value-added approach.
Mrs. Okonkwo holds over a decade of experience supporting innovative financial system implementations as a Systems Accountant at NASA and gained experience modernizing Federal legacy systems prior to joining NASA at the Office of Personnel Management and as a federal contractor at BearingPoint and Grant Thornton.
Ms. Okonkwo is energized by the adoption of emerging technology to transform and empower the federal workforce. Advocate of digital technology in budget and federal financial management including data visualization, robotics process automation, artificial intelligence and cloud services. Ms. Okonkwo represents the OCFO on NASAs Digital Transformation team established to reinvent products, processes and capabilities by exploring cutting edge digital technologies to enhance the Agencies partnerships and mission success.
An active member of the Association of Government Accountants, Ms. Okonkwo has been keynote speaker to AGA Chapter Dinners, National Training Events, Workshops and Webinars on topics ranging from Leadership, RPA and to How to Thrive and Not Just Survive the Pandemic.
Mrs. Okonkwo is a Certified Government Financial Manager and holds a BBA in Accounting from Howard University and Dual Masters of Science in Accounting and Information Technology from the University of Maryland. Currently serving on the Executive Board of the of the AGA DC Chapter and federal member of the American Council for Technology - Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC).
