PAC OFFERS YOU REAL SOLUTIONS IN CONSTRUCTION

PAC International, LLC offers a variety of unique cost-effective, high-performing noise control solutions with the RSIC Family of products. We develop and manufacture unique designs using noise control and isolation solutions to meet your specific site or project requirements and establish a full line of acoustic noise control products.

PAC invests heavily in Noise Control Testing in both floor-ceiling (STC & IIC) and wall assemblies (STC). Consistently pushing the noise control limits in cost-effective solutions for floor ceilings and walls. PAC has more UL Fire Resistive Design Assemblies than any other competitor and has never failed a fire test at UL. Very few companies in the world can make that statement. PAC products are UL Classified for use in UL Fire Resistive Design Assemblies numbering in the hundreds. Yes, Hundreds.

Brands: RSIC Resilient Sound Isolation Clip RSIC-1 RSIC Real Solutions In Construction

 Products

  • RSIC-1 (The ORIGINAL Sound Isolation Clip)
The RSIC-1 works to acoustically isolate the gypsum board from the supporting structure, whether it’s a wall or a ceiling so that less sound gets transmitted from one side to the other....

  • The RSIC-1 is the original sound isolation clip with over two decades on the market creating quieter spaces and solving noise issues worldwide. The RSIC-1 works to acoustically isolate gypsum board from the supporting structure, whether it is a wall or a ceiling so that less sound gets transmitted from one side to the other. RSIC-1 was developed to address and solve the issues created by using a low-cost but inherently unreliable resilient channel. The design of the RSIC-1 makes it easy to install correctly, every time.  This provides greater quality assurance and reduced liability. RSIC-1 is the go-to choice for superior sound isolation and on any project where critical noise control requires it is done right the FIRST time.

    Benefits:

    • Provides high level of quality assurance in acoustical performance

    • Approved for use in over 178 UL Fire-Resistive Designs

    • Backed by decades of acoustical testing and PAC's expert technical support

    Applications:

    • Double-shear walls

    • 2-Hour Rated Ceilings

  • RC-1 Boost
The RC-1 Boost is designed for and recommended for use to improve the STC and IIC performance with any wood wall or ceiling application where resilient channel is specified....

  • The RC-1 Boost is designed for and recommended to improve the STC (Sound Transmission Class) and IIC (Impact Insulation Class) performance with any wood wall or ceiling application where resilient channel is specified. RC-1 Boost also alleviates the potential for longer lead times and project delays due to the unavailability of premium RC channel brands allowing contractors to achieve premium RC channel performance with any brand of RC channel. RC-1 Boost saves labor and material costs compared to the usual approach of increasing the acoustic performance of RC (adding more insulation or adding additional layers of drywall).

Historically, most acoustical tests with resilient channels have used one type of resilient channel that includes dog-bone-shaped holes in the vertical web. This resilient channel has had several different names over the years, but it’s currently Clark Dietrich’s RC-Deluxe. Testing has shown that other resilient channels do not perform as well acoustically. When RC-Deluxe is specified on a project, it’s common to see other types of resilient channels actually installed in the field, resulting in poorer acoustical performance and potentially a lack of code compliance.

RC-1 Boost can be used to make the acoustical performance of other resilient channels match or exceed that of RC-Deluxe. This provides many alternatives to RC-Deluxe to allow for more competitive bidding, and it provides a solution for times when RC-Deluxe is specified but another type of channel is sent to the job site.

    Benefits:

    • The most cost-effective way to improve IIC ratings for ceiling assemblies

    • Consistently provides a 5-point increase in the IIC rating for ceiling assemblies using resilient channel

    • On single stud, 16" OC wood walls, using RC-1 Boost (for any brand standard RC channel), can make the difference between not meeting code and exceeding STC code minimums

    • Improves performance of all brands of resilient channel

    • Alleviates supply chain issues with premium resilient channel

    • Included in over 83 UL Fire-Resistive Designs

  • PAC-RCB
The PAC-RCB is specifically designed to address and prevent acoustical short circuits and reduced acoustical performance on resilient channel isolated assemblies where support cabinets, shelving, headboards, televisions, speakers, nightstands, etc....

  • How do you mount heavy items like cabinets on a wall with resilient channels and maintain the wall’s sound isolation? This is a very common problem in apartments, hotels, condominiums, and other projects, but until now there hasn’t been a tested and proven product that solved this challenge.

Mounting of cabinets, headboards, and other heavy objects is a major liability on walls with resilient channels. The typical mounting method of placing ½” OSB or plywood between, or in place of, the resilient channels short-circuits the acoustical isolation and dramatically reduces the acoustical performance of the wall. The reduction in performance can cause the wall to not meet the code minimum for sound isolation, a potential liability for all parties involved in the project.

The PAC-Resilient Channel Backer (RCB) is a simple, yet effective solution that works on wood and steel studs of all sizes and spacing. The PAC-RCB mounts directly to the face of a stud and provides proper offset so that the horizontal backer is flush with the resilient channel when installed. Backers can either be nominally 2" thick wood (2x4, 2x6, etc.) or steel box beams formed of steel track and studs. The backer is decoupled from the PAC-RCB bracket when using PAC's proprietary rubber isolators and specially designed screws.

    Benefits:

    • Eliminates short circuits caused by mounting heavy objects on walls with resilient channel

    • Tested to maintain the acoustical performance of the base wall

    • Works with wood and steel studs

    • Works with any stud spacing
