Founded in 1924, Calavo Growers has a nearly 100-year history of successfully evolving its business to meet changing consumer demands for nutritious and delicious fresh food. Today, Calavo is a global leader in avocados and also sells prepared foods such as guacamole, salsa, refrigerated fresh prepared fruits and vegetables, and grab-and-go prepared sandwiches and salads. Calavo sources its avocados primarily from California and Mexico, and augments its supply from South America in order to provide a consistent year round supply.
Calavo has three business segments:
- The Fresh segment sells avocados complemented by premium tomatoes and Hawaiian papayas.
- Calavo Foods sells prepared fresh foods made from avocados (guacamole, hummus and desserts) and fresh salsa.
- Renaissance Food Group is a fresh food company that creates, markets and distributes a portfolio of healthy, high quality lifestyle products for consumers via retail and foodservice channels.
