Great Lakes Greenhouses was founded in 1983 in Leamington, Ontario, Canada on five acres of land. Today, GLG is one of the largest cucumber growers in North America while remaining a family-run business firmly rooted in its commitment to constant, never-ending improvement.

GLG is a pioneer in the greenhouse industry. Its list of accomplishments includes:

  • In-house propagating of cucumbers from seed for better disease control and quality
  • Incorporating the use of CO2 to enhance the atmosphere in its greenhouses
  • Inhouse Grafting of plants for disease resistance
  • Growing cucumbers and mini cucumbers year-round
  • Rear and harvest our own beneficial insects onsite at a commercial scale
  • Our greenhouses run completely off the grid. 100% of the electricity we use is produced in-house via an efficient co-generation system run on natural gas

One hundred percent of the produce GLG grows is certified non-GMO. Our organic commodities meet USDA Organic, Pro-Cert and ECO Cert Standards.
