ONE MORE STEP FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Mirabel, January 25, 2022 – The SAVOURA Group‘s management team is pleased to announce that it is taking another step towards protecting the environment by proposing a new box for the marketing of SAVOURA strawberries. In keeping with its environmental values, which are increasingly central to the group’s decisions, the leader in greenhouse production in Quebec is immediately eliminating the plastic tray used for several years to package strawberries. The new packaging, made entirely in Quebec, is composed almost entirely of compostable cardboard and a plastic film window, allowing consumers to see the product in the box and preserve the fruit’s moisture during transportation.
The management team of the famous brand is proud to highlight this additional step towards an offer that is in line with the environmental concerns increasingly present in Quebec consumers’ purchasing decisions. For the SAVOURA Group, the idea of clearly meeting the expectations of a market that is more sensitive to product origin and environmental issues is a daily challenge in the company’s decisions. Therefore, the entire team has worked hard to achieve this innovative project, aligning with its continuous improvement objectives.
For the SAVOURA Group, this project sends a clear message about its motivation to make commitments that respect the principles of sustainable development. These are inseparable from developing more responsible agriculture to which the company aspires.
