Millen Farm’s roots began in rural Great Village, NS with 6 rows of starwberries back in the early 70’s. At the age of 14, Curtis Millen began working for a local farmer who traded him the rows of berries in exchange for work. Curtis worked the fields for many years and eventually purchased a piece of land to start a family and continue farming. Curtis, alongside his wife, Ann, and two sons, Jonathan and Brandon, have expanded and diversified the farm over the years and have grown into one of the largest berry farms in Atlantic Canada. The farm harvests approximately 200 acres of strawberries each year, as well as grows and manages 2000 acres of low-bush wild blueberries for the fresh and frozen market. They currently process fresh and fresh-frozen wild blueberries, as well as IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) to service commercial buyers, as well as retailers. Aside from berries, Millen Farms grows and packs rutabagas in 5lb, 10lb and 50lb bag, as well as red onions in 25lb bags for retail.
