Jackson Health System EM Residency Program
EM Academic Excellence from Miami to the World
Welcome to the Jackson Health System/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Our ACGME-approved residency is a 3-year program that offers a comprehensive patient-centered model designed to train compassionate and expert Emergency Medicine leaders. Our curriculum was developed to incorporate multiple modalities of learning: simulation, small group sessions, review and lectures to develop outstanding future clinicians and scholars. Rotation locations include Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital, Miami VA Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital in neighboring Broward County. Rotations at these different hospitals provide our residents experience in private, academic and county hospitals, and prepares them for either academic or private careers in emergency medicine.
Leadership includes Chief of EM Girish Bobby Kapur MD, MPH, Residency Director Christopher Freeman, MD, FACEP, Associate PD, Mark Supino, MD, Assistant Director, Patricia De Melo, MD and Emergency Ultrasound Director, Leila Posaw, MD, MPH, FACEP.
