Our Global Story

Our history as a tourism pioneer began in the 1960s in Queenstown, New Zealand, where Skyline’s founders constructed the Southern Hemisphere’s first and steepest cableway system to the ‘Skyline Chalet’ cafe 480m above Queenstown, establishing its position as a tourism pioneer in New Zealand.

From those humble beginnings, diversification and expansion has seen the company evolve and Skyline now offers an expansive, global tourism portfolio in New Zealand and internationally, successfully exporting its unique gravity-based products to 4 continents, welcoming millions of fun seekers annually.

Our Latest Development

Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur opened its doors to the public in December 2023 and has been an immediate success. One of the fastest developments by Skyline, it was first identified in January 2018 and initially planned to open in mid-2021. Despite delays due to COVID-19 it was still able to be completed and opened in record time.

For this development Skyline has partnered with one of Malaysia’s largest developers Gamuda Land, to establish Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur. Skyline’s adventure attraction is a core part of the entertainment and leisure offering in the Gamuda Luge Gardens precinct, that sits within the Gamuda Gardens township. Four exhilarating Luge tracks of approximately 550m in length each have been created along with multiple food and beverage offerings.

Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur has the world’s longest tunnel systems with themed LED lighting that provides guests with a truly unique experience. In mid-2024 Skyline will enhance their property by adding the world’s first Ziprailvolution system called Hyfly by renowned Italian Zipline manufacturer Adrenaline Construction.
