    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Roland DGA’s New TrueVIS TR2 Eco-Solvent Ink Technology Receives Avery Dennison ICS Performance Guarantee and Six-Hour Outgassing Approval for Printed Graphics

Irvine, Calif., March 6, 2019 Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, has announced that Avery Dennison has awarded their advanced ICS Performance Guarantee for graphics printed with new TR2 eco-solvent ink and the new TrueVIS VG2 series 64” and 54” wide-format eco-solvent printer/cutters.

The ICS Performance Guarantee provides up to four years of warranty protection for outdoor printed graphics and up to seven years for indoor graphics. “This is an important assurance for those who will be using our next-generation VG2 printers with Avery media,” noted Daniel Valade, Roland DGA Product Manager, Color Products and Cutters. “What’s more, after rigorous testing, Avery has set the recommended outgassing time for this combination at just six hours – a 75 percent reduction in the timeframe recommended for traditional solvent technology. That means businesses with tight project turnaround times, like vehicle wrap shops, can easily perform same-day printing and lamination while retaining a full graphics warranty.”

According to Avery Dennison OEM Relationship Manager Paul Roba, the testing process required close collaboration between Avery and Roland DG. “We work closely with printing experts like the engineering teams at Roland DG to create production solutions that offer superior performance and peace of mind to our customers,” said Roba. “We are happy to add another high-quality print platform with the TrueVIS VG2 series and TR2 ink to our extensive Integrated Component System Warranty Program. We continue to provide thoroughly tested solutions to our PSPs, increasing confidence in graphic performance and identifying throughput improvement processes.”

In addition to incorporating a host of features for increased efficiency, productivity and ease of use, Roland’s TrueVIS VG2 series adopts a new generation of eco-solvent TR2 ink. In order to take full advantage of the VG2’s superior color reproduction capability and the wide color gamut provided by TR2 ink, a True Rich Color preset was also created, allowing vibrant colors to be combined with neutral greys, smooth gradations and natural skin tones for stunning graphic results.

“Our VG2 series printer/cutters, together with our specially formulated TR2 ink, give demanding graphics professionals what they need to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace – durable, high-quality output, brilliant color, and fast turnaround times,” said Valade. “The Avery ICS Performance Guarantee, along with the six-hour outgassing capability, gives customers even more reasons to invest in this cutting-edge technology.”

Building upon the impressive capabilities of Roland’s previous VersaUV benchtop flatbeds, the next-generation LEF2-200 incorporates innovative new features that increase ease of use and efficiency.

The LEF2-200 inherits the VersaUV LEF series’ renowned ability to print amazing full-color graphics and unique textures, including premium finishes such as simulated embossing, onto a vast array of materials and objects up to 3.94 inches (100 mm) thick. In addition, the LEF2-200 boasts improvements that make decorating everything from smart phone covers and plaques to giftware and personalized products easier than ever. A Start Timer Function completes print head cleaning setup and White ink circulation automatically by your designated start time, while a positioning jig makes it easy to align items on the print table. For greater maintenance efficiency and convenience, the LEF2-200 adopts a new cleaning system that helps maximize printer reliability and reduce ink consumption during maintenance procedures. A Head Refresher Feature removes any ink remaining on the print heads and cleans the print head surface to maintain the health of the printer. The LEF2-200 is also equipped with an airtight cover that prevents dust from settling onto the surface of materials while printing.

Included VersaWorks® 6 software – Roland’s most powerful RIP to date – provides a wealth of useful tools. VersaWorks 6 features a new HARLEQUIN dual core engine for faster previewing times and improved handling of PDF and EPS files with drop-shadows and transparencies. This feature-filled software also lets LEF2 users automatically generate a White, Gloss or Primer layer directly in the RIP, making it simple to incorporate stunning textural and dimensional effects.

“With its added features, this cutting-edge flatbed ushers in a new era of UV printing efficiency, productivity and convenience,” said Jay Roberts, Roland DGA Product Manager, UV Printers. “The LEF2’s unique capabilities, along with our ECO-UV inks that cure instantly and stretch around corners and curves, make customizing or personalizing just about anything a breeze. Plus, enhancing CMYK graphics with premium gloss and matte finishes, White ink, or multiple layers of Clear ink to create simulated 3D embossing, has never been easier.”

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Roland DGA Announces its First Direct-To-Garment Printer for On-Demand Personalization

Irvine, Calif., Jan. 17, 2019 – Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers and 3D devices, has released the VersaSTUDIO BT-12 – an affordable direct-to-garment desktop printer ideal for printing directly on cotton-based products.

The new VersaSTUDIO BT-12 makes printing directly on cotton* apparel and accessories easy, efficient, and cost-effective. With the BT-12, users can print full-color graphics, including photos, logos and text, directly on T-shirts, tote-bags, interior décor items, and more.  Its small footprint and attractive pricing allow individuals and businesses to personalize products with a low initial investment and in locations where space may be limited, such as retail shops, kiosks, gift shops, tourist destinations and special event venues.

The footprint of the BT-12, which measures 15.7” (W) x 29.9” (D), includes a finishing unit stacked with the printer unit. This clever design dramatically reduces the installation space that is typically required for a traditional direct-to-garment printer and finishing unit combination.

Included, user-friendly Roland Design Software makes the new BT-12 incredibly easy to use, even for novices. The intuitive software and hardware interface allows anyone to create unique personalized apparel and accessories with minimal training.

“Roland has been a key player in the production of graphics for custom apparel and fabric goods for many years,” said Lily Hunter, Roland DGA Product Manager, Textiles and Consumable Supplies. “The addition of the BT-12 to our product line satisfies growing demand for a compact, value-packed direct-to-garment printer that offers outstanding performance alongside the benefits of Roland’s renowned customer service and support.”

Capable of producing a product from start to finish in as little as five minutes, the BT-12 is the perfect tool for enhancing cotton-based products with graphics directly, and with very little effort.  “The ease of use, high quality results and low cost of the BT-12 make it unbeatable for on-demand apparel and accessory personalization in a wide-variety of settings,” added Hunter. “It’s designed to suit the needs – and the budgets – of those seeking to enter this lucrative, rapidly growing market quickly, easily and affordably.”
