The mission of the BYU School of Music is "to seek truth in music." We strive to lead in the composition, performance, teaching, and understanding of music, and to serve the university, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the world through this divine gift. We are devoted to finding the truths embedded in the best music: to identify it, learn from it, and learn how to communicate it.
As faculty, administrators, and staff, we help our students to think clearly about diverse kinds of music and to create, perform, and teach music with excellence.
