Welcome to the DePaul University School of Music. 

Designed to be rigorous and collaborative, our programs of study give you the experience and the knowledge to confidently pursue a life dedicated to music. We are more than a conservatory. Extend your repertoire to include insights about history, philosophy, literature, civis, art, and science. That is the beauty of studying music at a school housed in a liberal arts university. You have endless opportunites to deepen your knowledge and experiences across curriculums. 100% of our classes are taught by faculty, we have no teaching assistants. We have eight undergraduate programs and five graduate programs.

Our world-renowned faculty are performers, soloists, conductors, composers, educators, entrepreneurs, and recording artists. They perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as on the best jazz stages and opera houses in Chicago and around the world. But more importantly, they are mentors and role models, who set high expectations and offer continuous support as you develop as a musician, a student, and a person. 

Study and perform in the Holtschneider Performance Center. Three floors, 185,000 square feet of thoughtfully designed and state of the art performance, practice, and classroom space. Stunning in design and practial in function. A place where every student has the chance to be extraordinary.
