Making air visible!
The VIZI-AIR™ is an airflow visualization training aid for brass instruments. This patent pending educational device was originally intended for younger students, but it has also been found effective for brass players of all ages. VIZI-AIR™ is a revolutionary device allowing the performer the opportunity to “see” their air by way of the fan blade's rotation.
For those of us concerned with what type of sound is being produced while “buzzing” on the mouthpiece, VIZI-AIR™ takes away most of the guesswork. It’s designed to show whether or not a good, air-supported vibration is occurring. If a full airstream passes through the mouthpiece, the VIZI-AIR™ will rotate. If air flow is hindered in any way, the VIZI-AIR™ will either rotate slower or not all. The player can actually see the difference and make the necessary adjustments!
Whether your goal is trying to increase air production, strengthen range stability, focus on immediate air response, or so many other issues involving airflow, VIZI-AIR™ can be a fantastic tool leading you and your students down the right path. At the very least, VIZI-AIR™ will bring more attention to the importance of air and its association with tone production.
Each VIZI-AIR™ is 3D printed, constructed of a durable carbon fiber filament. There are six different sizes to accommodate the six most common brass instruments.
