  • Graduates of the Bachelor of Music Education (BMEd) program are trained to have a thorough understanding of the methodology Pre K-12 music teachers use as licensed educators. The bachelor of music degree in music education focuses on instrumental, choral, and general music studies. Throughout the four-year curriculum, candidates will gain an understanding of what it takes to be a qualified music instructor. 100% of BMEd students have found jobs immediately following graduation. Students graduate being able to perform on 19 instruments including voice. 
  • A student pursuing the Bachelor of Music in Performance and Pedagogy is interested in becoming a uniquely skilled instructor within the music industry, while pursuing a high level of performance. Although Graduates in this degree are focused on performance, this degree will broaden their career choice by studying repertoire specific to their instrument, entrepreneurship skills, and appropriate teaching techniques to build a successful private lesson studio. 
  • The VanderCook College of Music Master of Music Education (MMEd) degree allows licensed music teachers the opportunity to earn their MMEd without interrupting their full-time teaching schedule.  Candidates can complete graduate courses during the summer months only or choose to work throughout the academic year while completing courses designed to provide new skills, strategies, and resources that can immediately be implemented in the classroom.
