Excited to share programs with math educators!

The mission of Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is to build cooperation between mathematics and the worlds of science and technology through publications, research, and community. Learn more about applied math, math modeling and SIAM at http://www.siam.org/.

As part of SIAM's array of programs, we organize M3 Challenge, an award-winning, free, Internet-based competition inspiring students to pursue STEM majors and careers. Working in teams, students solve an open-ended problem in 14 hours. Awards $100,000+ in scholarships. Extra credit awards for outstanding (optional) code. More than $1.6 million scholarships awarded since 2006. M3 Challenge gives students opportunity to experience first-hand the vital role applied math plays in society, and demonstrates its value in gaining insight about big multi-faceted problems in the world. Free resources. Learn more at https://m3challenge.siam.org/.

Also helpful, the free report: Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction of Mathematical Modeling Education (GAIMME), and two free math modeling handbooks. More info on the SIAM website and at the booth; come see us!
