National Athletic Trainers' Association
The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) represents some 45,000 members across the country who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sport- and work-related injuries and illnesses. These health care professionals prevent and treat chronic musculoskeletal injuries from sports, physical, and occupational activity and provide immediate care for these acute issues. The NATA is commited to raising awareness about this unparalleled continuum of care which these dedicated men and women offer those who participate in sports and other physically demanding activities.
At Your Own Risk is NATA's public awareness campaign designed to educate, provide resources and equip the public to act and advocate for safety in work, life and sport. We believe that there are numerous benefits to sports, but without appropriate medical care from an athletic trainer, that youth athletes face unnecessary risks of injury or illness. We believe that schools, communities, employers and parents play an important role advocating for a safer approach. Learn more at www.AtYourOwnRisk.org.
