These packaging categories include a new version of their STANDARD lineup, new ECOGIRO LIGHT, and COMPOSTABLE products. These different packaging categories offer various solutions to the market demand of reducing plastics.
REDUCED STANDARD LINEUP – Giro Pack, Inc. has taken the already sustainable, recyclable #2 bag, and is offering “lighter” materials in order to reduce the amount of plastic per unit. These reductions are up to 18% regarding tubular netting, and up to 17% regarding printed films. Not only are these new bags fully recyclable and utilizing less plastics, they provide more autonomy per reel, improving production efficiencies for packers.
ECOGIRO LIGHT - The new EcoGiró Light Program is focused on offering new alternatives to the market in order to reduce the possible environmental impact through the production of low-weight packages. The new EcoGiró Light net Is produced with a new variety of PE that provides the same resistance by decreasing the weight of the net by an additional 20%. This new breakthrough will decrease the amount of plastic dramatically, while keeping the same resistance and maintaining the integrity of the package.
COMPOSTABLE - Giró is involved in the development of a new range of compostable nets and labels in order to offer 100% compostable packages. Compostable bags must be deposited in the organic containers after its use. The word compostable is used to define those materials which can be biodegraded by the action of microorganisms in a short period of time without leaving visible toxic waste. These new innovations can be utilized on equipment already installed across the market and supply chain.
