Westfalia Fruit Colombia recently opened the largest and most modern Hass avocado packhouse in Sonsón, Antioquia. The facility is designed to ensure product quality, optimise classification accuracy and meet stringent processing capacity and post-harvest treatment requirements.
In just six years of operation, WFC has exported more than 800 containers to different international destinations including England, the Netherlands, France, USA, Spain, Canada, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia. It has over 300 ha in high-density avocado plantings, a nursery for clonal plant material production, and a second packhouse in Antioquia. WFC commercialises the fruit of over 140 producers in the country and provides technical support to growers.
