SEKISUI CHEMICAL has developped FFU (Fiber reinforced Foamed Urethane) railway ties in 1980 as the alternative materials to timber ties, so the characteristics are similar to timber ties; light weight, strong, durable and easy to work with. At the same time, since FFU is synthetic material, it has advantages of plastic such as no water absorption, free from corrosion, excellent chemical resistance and excellent electrical insulation.
