  • Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen-und-Medizintechnik AG (EZAG), through its wholly owned subsidiary Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma GmbH (EZR), recently submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) an amendment of its Drug Master File (DMF) for its pharmaceutical grade Germanium-68/Gallium-68 generator, GalliaPharm®. If found acceptable, the amendment will allow nuclear pharmacists to achieve a significantly higher number of elutions per generator and thereby increase the average availability of Gallium-68 in U.S. hospitals by about 40%.

    EZAG is a world market leader for pharmaceutical grade Germanium-68/Gallium-68 generators and has recently seen a significant increase in the United States of the use of Gallium-68 labeled diagnostics for the detection of neuroendocrine tumors.

    This increase in demand led to longer GalliaPharm® delivery times to radiopharmacies and raised concern among U.S. industry participants regarding the sufficient supply of these radioisotopes. EZAG has addressed these concerns by submitting extended stability data to the U.S. FDA, which reveal continuing safe use of EZAG’s GalliaPharm® generator at even higher number of elutions. If approved, the increased number of elutions per generator would in turn allow radiopharmacies and hospitals, to benefit from increased Gallium-68 supply for radiopharmaceutical application.

    In addition to the increase of permitted elutions per GalliaPharm® generator, EZAG will also increase its overall production of GalliaPharm® generators beginning January 2019.

  • The GalliaPharm® Ge-68/Ga-68 Radionuclide Generator from Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma GmbH is a pharmaceutical product for obtaining the positron emitter Gallium-68, independent of a cyclotron.
    GalliaPharm® is a closed system consisting of pharmacopoeia grade borosilicate glass column containing a titanium dioxide bed on which Ge-68 is adsorbed. Ga-68 is continuously produced by decay of its radioactive parent Ge-68 and is eluted with sterile ultrapure 0.1 mol/l hydrochloric acid. GalliaPharm® is available with the following activities: 740 MBq, 1110 MBq, 1480 MBq and 1850 MBq (20 mCi, 30 mCi, 40 mCi, 50 mCi).

    GalliaPharm® is registered as a medicinal product in several European countries. Furthermore, Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma GmbH is a holder of a Type II Drug Master File (#28741) in the USA.

  • The laboratory equipment Modular-Lab PharmTracer has been specifically designed to allow versatile and efficient routine production of different tracers, complying with GMP requirements. The concept of disposable cassettes enables the user to easily label different radionuclides with the same setup, but without the risk of cross contamination.

  • The AR-2000 radio-TLC Imaging Scanner has become the industry ‘Gold Standard’ in the detection of radiolabeled compounds in TLC plates and also in the purity analysis of [F-18]FDG.

    The system provides direct digital counting of all radioisotopes, including high-energy positron emitters and low energy betas, such as tritium [3H], without the need to exchange detectors.     Your TLC-Scan can be monitored via PC or Android-based devices and even though the system is compatible with existing chromatography systems, a stand-alone usage is also possible.
