 Press Releases

  • Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen-und-Medizintechnik AG (EZAG), through its wholly owned subsidiary Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma GmbH (EZR), recently submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) an amendment of its Drug Master File (DMF) for its pharmaceutical grade Germanium-68/Gallium-68 generator, GalliaPharm®. If found acceptable, the amendment will allow nuclear pharmacists to achieve a significantly higher number of elutions per generator and thereby increase the average availability of Gallium-68 in U.S. hospitals by about 40%.

EZAG is a world market leader for pharmaceutical grade Germanium-68/Gallium-68 generators and has recently seen a significant increase in the United States of the use of Gallium-68 labeled diagnostics for the detection of neuroendocrine tumors.

This increase in demand led to longer GalliaPharm® delivery times to radiopharmacies and raised concern among U.S. industry participants regarding the sufficient supply of these radioisotopes. EZAG has addressed these concerns by submitting extended stability data to the U.S. FDA, which reveal continuing safe use of EZAG’s GalliaPharm® generator at even higher number of elutions. If approved, the increased number of elutions per generator would in turn allow radiopharmacies and hospitals, to benefit from increased Gallium-68 supply for radiopharmaceutical application.

In addition to the increase of permitted elutions per GalliaPharm® generator, EZAG will also increase its overall production of GalliaPharm® generators beginning January 2019.

  • KitLab
The smartest solution for kit labeling...

  • The growing availability of ready to use shake‘n‘bake kits on the market increases the potential of manual handling errors and the risk of high radiation exposure to the operator. With the KitLab, Eckert & Ziegler Eurotope GmbH offers an automated solution to improve the reproducibility of results and to prevent users of unnecessary exposure.

KitLab combines fast user setup, easy handling and elimination of operating errors; therefore allowing more time to stay focussed on other work. The use of defined tools for each kit and the reproducible process make KitLab very reliable.

  • GalliaPharm® Ge-68/Ga-68 Generator
Cyclotron-independent production of the positron emitter Gallium-68...

  • The GalliaPharm® Ge-68/Ga-68 Radionuclide Generator from Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma GmbH is a pharmaceutical product for obtaining the positron emitter Gallium-68, independent of a cyclotron.
GalliaPharm® is a closed system consisting of pharmacopoeia grade borosilicate glass column containing a titanium dioxide bed on which Ge-68 is adsorbed. Ga-68 is continuously produced by decay of its radioactive parent Ge-68 and is eluted with sterile ultrapure 0.1 mol/l hydrochloric acid. GalliaPharm® is available with the following activities: 740 MBq, 1110 MBq, 1480 MBq and 1850 MBq (20 mCi, 30 mCi, 40 mCi, 50 mCi).

GalliaPharm® is registered as a medicinal product in several European countries. Furthermore, Eckert & Ziegler Radiopharma GmbH is a holder of a Type II Drug Master File (#28741) in the USA.

  • Modular-Lab eazy
The ideal solution for efficient routine production of theranostic tracers...

  • To facilitate the daily work with theranostic tracers, Eckert & Ziegler developed Modular-Lab eazy – the innovative and smallest radiosynthesis system on the market. The synthesizer comes with a completely new cassette design, which makes the handling of Modular-Lab eazy as easy as never before. By just clicking in the synthesis cassette all pressure connections are done automatically. After connecting the generator and filling the chemicals, the complete synthesis works without user interaction.

For more information visit the Modular-Lab eazy product website.

  • Modular-Lab PharmTracer
efficient routine production and research of radiopharmaceuticals...

  • The laboratory equipment Modular-Lab PharmTracer has been specifically designed to allow versatile and efficient routine production of different tracers, complying with GMP requirements. The concept of disposable cassettes enables the user to easily label different radionuclides with the same setup, but without the risk of cross contamination.
The system retains the reliability and versatility of the Modular-Lab Standard system, allowing to make changes in the process as necessary during early-stage development, but then “lock-in” the process for routine production. With this addition, Modular-Lab PharmTracer is the ideal platform for development as well as production of radiopharmaceuticals.

Modular-Lab PharmTracer is available with different setups for a wide range of applications with radionuclides including Ga-68, In-111, Lu-177, Y-90, F-18, C-11, Cu-64, Cu-67 and others.

Eckert & Ziegler also developed a basic, space and cost-efficient version of this synthesis device. Modular-Lab PharmTracer Tower combines a minimum footprint and economic prices for consumables and system with the advantages of Modular-Lab PharmTracer.

  • AR-2000
    Radio-TLC Imaging Scanner...

  • The AR-2000 radio-TLC Imaging Scanner has become the industry ‘Gold Standard’ in the detection of radiolabeled compounds in TLC plates and also in the purity analysis of [F-18]FDG.

The system provides direct digital counting of all radioisotopes, including high-energy positron emitters and low energy betas, such as tritium [3H], without the need to exchange detectors. AR-2000’s design guarantees quantitative accuracy and reproducibility in thin-layer chromatography applications in both important metabolism studies, as well as in simple radiochemical purity measurements.

For more information visit the AR-2000 product website.

  • TLC-Scan
GMP compliant TLC-Scanner for the detection of a variety of radioisotopes...

  • This GMP compliant Thin Layer Chromatography scanner can be used for the detection of a variety of radioisotopes. Equipped with a moving stage and a PMT-based detector, the TLC-Scan can also be used for data collection and report generation requirements.

Your TLC-Scan can be monitored via PC or Android-based devices and even though the system is compatible with existing chromatography systems, a stand-alone usage is also possible. Variable scan speeds, easy set-up and maintenance as well as the wide range of available detectors are just some of the advantages of this system and guarantee the measurement of most established radioisotopes. Up to two PMT- or diode-based detectors can be used at once. A calibration plate is available upon request.

For more information visit the TLC-Scan product website.
