Munters increases dairy processing performance year-round using desiccant dehumidification, process heating and energy recovery technology. 

Munters desiccant dehumidification systems control the processing and storage environment of dairy products by keeping the air humidity low to protect products from microorganism growth and consequential product deterioration. Dairy processors experience less drying time, improved product quality and less product waste.

Air heating is an essential step in the dairy spray drying process, and Munters VariMax with indirect gas heating is the ideal technology. The smaller footprint and lower weight ensure convenience and simple installation, and it offers efficiency levels of up to 98%, which optimizes energy efficiency.

Munters also offers air-to-air heat exchangers for energy recovery within dairy processing, which are manufactured in accordance with USDA guidelines. These energy recovery systems recover wasted energy from processes, heat other process air streams, and provide heated make-up air. Not only will these systems reduce a facility’s carbon footprint, but they can save significant costs on energy.
